Please note this is a fully regulated course approved by UK Awarding Body FAA Awards and results in a Level 1 UK / Level 4 (Scotland) qualification. As this course is regulated it holds significant weight and enhances an organisations commitment to the health and wellbeing of their staff and others.

This course can be attended as on open course, a distance learning course (virtual learning with an instructor) or in-house at your office premises.

This course can be attended by anyone and has been designed to help employers create a positive mental health culture in the workplace. Having a positive approach to mental health conditions in the workplace is an asset to organisations as it creates a a safe and non-judgemental environment both in the workplace and for lone workers and ultimately can significantly reduce staff absence and sick leave.

Learners undertaking this course will be qualified as Awareness First Aiders for Mental Health and can be a point of contact within the working environment to help and support anyone with a suspected mental health condition.

This course will give learners the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, teach them the skills they need to start a conversation and the confidence/knowledge to signpost the individual person towards professional help.

Learners will be awarded a regulated level 1 (level 4 in Scotland) Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health and be better equipped to deal with any mental health concerns which arise in the workplace.

  • An understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect mental wellbeing.

  • Providing advice and starting a conversation.

Qualification:

Regulated 3 Year FAA Level 1 (Level 4 in Scotland) Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF/SCQF)

Course Duration:

4 hours. Can be run over and extended period of time (up to 2 weeks).
