Course Overview

Legislation from the Department of Education requires all newly qualified level two and three child carers to have either a Paediatric Emergency First Aid (1-day) or full Paediatric First Aid certificate (2-day).

It remains a legal requirement for at least one person with a valid full 2-day Paediatric First Aid certificate to be available at all times within a professional childcare establishment. This includes cover for sickness, annual leave and to accompany children on trips or excursions.

If you have a professional interest in this course such as being a child-minder, school teacher or nursery teacher etc then this course will partly fulfil the requirements of OFSTED AND EYFS. OFSTED and EYFS require you to have 12 hours (2-days) of Paediatric First Aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil this.  This course is also ideal for anyone working in creches, babysitting, organising or running playgroups etc.

Individuals will receive a level 2 (level 5 in Scotland) FAA RQF/SCQF certificate which is valid for three years. This comprehensive course includes theory and scenario training for various accident and emergency events. After completing this course, the learner will be provided with the skills they require to provide prompt, safe and effective Paediatric Emergency First Aid to children in their care.
