This forestry first aid course has been specifically designed for people working in the forestry and agricultural sector and complies with the Forestry Commission First Aid policy of 2015. This 2-hour course provides extra training in crush injuries, catastrophic bleeding and use of tourniquets & haemostats. Particularly suitable for anyone working in Forestry or land management where chainsaw injuries etc are possible.
This course is fully compliant with the requirement of the forestry commission and HSE, along with being nationally regulated by the government awarding standing Ofqual. This forestry first aid course will give an employee / learner the knowledge and skills to deal with a variety of situations that can occur in these environments, such as crush injuries, catastrophic blood loss events (e.g in the event of a chain saw accident), effects of extreme heat or cold, lyme disease, emergency planning and remote medical assistance.
Delegates will be taught the correct use of tourniquets and their inherent dangers along with correct us and application of haemostatic dressings etc.
This course can be run as bolt on to a 3-day First Aid at Work or 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course, or can be run as a stand alone course providing delegates already hold the above.
