This catastrophic bleeding course is strongly recommended for anyone working in a high-risk environment where there is a high risk of serious injury resulting in catastrophic blood loss. For example, industries using heavy industrial equipment, cutting machinery, working at height, or using general industrial tooling.
Employers have a duty of care to their staff and ensuring that you have adequately trained personnel available to deal with a catastrophic blood loss incident that should be considered essential. Along with have quick access to the correct treatment equipment.
This catastrophic bleeding course will provide the learner with the correct and up to date guidance on dealing with a catastrophic bleeding incident along with understanding the dangers associated through the use of haemostatic dressings and tourniquets. Furthermore, learners will be able to safely administer first aid in a high-risk working environment.
This course is essential for anyone working within forestry and is required by the forestry commission (forestry first aid) and also for anyone working in high risk environments such as agriculture, heavy manufacturing and engineering etc.
Pre-requisite for course attendance requires that each learner much have an in-date Level 3 First Aid or Level 3 Emergency First Aid qualification.
3 hours. Can be run over an extended period of time (up to 3 weeks).
