This 3-hour course will equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise on how to manage a casualty’s airway during an emergency.

The Airway Management course is suitable for pre-hospital staff, care workers where Oxygen is available, first aiders and others working in high-risk environments.

From choking to more complicated airway obstruction, it is essential that clinicians and individuals operating in high-risk environments have a practical understanding of managing life-threatening situations. Airway management covers the assessment, planning and procedures that are needed to restore a person’s breathing and ventilation.

Fundamental to the practice of emergency medicine, this is one of the most important aspects of prehospital care. The primary objective is to ensure that the patient’s ventilation is stable while they are transferred to the care of an emergency department.

This is a small group class with training delivered in a personable way.

  • The core principles of good airway management
  • How to examine an airway
  • The airway management ladder
  • In-depth practical training
