Cardiac arrests can occur when we least expect it. Heart and circulatory diseases account for over 200,000 premature deaths per year and if a defibrillator was made available / used effectively in combination with CPR many of these lives could be saved.
When a cardiac arrest occurs, it is critical that people react efficiently and effectively as this is crucial in saving a life. A casualty’s rate of survival increases significantly if an AED is available and there are people on hand qualified to use it.
