Course Overview

This regulated course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to act in an emergency with safe, prompt and critical life-saving assistance until further support arrives.

This course covers a variety of topics but includes the safe use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and complies with the latest protocols set out by the UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

Individuals will receive a level 2 (level 5 in Scotland) FAA RQF/SCQF certificate which is valid for three years. This course includes theory and scenario training for various accident and emergency events including resuscitation and safe use of an AED providing learners with the skills they require to provide prompt, safe and effective Basic Life Support.

  • Primary survey
  • Secondary assessment
  • Resuscitation and AED
  • Disorders of respiration

 

Qualification:

Regulated 3 Year FAA Level 2 (level 5 in Scotland) Award in Basic Life Support (RQF/SCQF)

Course Duration:

3 hours. Can be run over an extended period of time (up to 3 weeks).
