Course Overview

Legislation from the Department of Education requires all newly qualified level two and three child carers to have either an Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1-day) or Full Paediatric First Aid certificate (2-day).

It remains a legal requirement for at least one person with a valid full 2-day Paediatric First Aid certificate to be available at all times within a professional childcare establishment. This includes cover for sickness and annual leave and to accompany children on trips or excursion.

This course meets the standards required by OFSTED and EYFS and is a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification is for people working with young children, infants and babies such as teachers, child minders, creche assistants, playgroup personnel, nurseries etc. In addition, this course can be used for credits for anyone working towards an Early Years Educator qualification and/or NVQ.

Individuals will receive a level 3 (level 6 in Scotland) FAA RQF/SCQF certificate which is valid for three years. This comprehensive course includes theory and scenario training for various accident and emergency events. After completing this course, the learner will be provided with the skills they require to provide prompt, safe and effective Paediatric First Aid to children in their care.

This regulated course can also be run as a blended course, with some theory modules being taught remotely (1-day) and the rest including all practical modules through face-to-face learning (1-day). If you are interested in this, please contact our office.
